Green shipping consultant
Do you want to become a trusted voice in the green transition of shipping?
The Environmental Advisory section in DNV Maritime supports our customers in optimizing their decisions on environmental technology, low/zero emission fuels, and climate and environmental policy. With more than 20 years of service deliveries dedicated to ship emissions and abatement strategies, our interdisciplinary teams have expertise both down to the details and along the bigger lines.
We are now entering an era of profound change driven by the industry’s need to decarbonize and to make the right environmental choices. Our section is uniquely positioned to make a difference in this transition. Working at the intersection of technology, economics, and policy our competence is highly sought for in the industry and in the public sector when navigating the ongoing major transition to green solutions and carbon neutrality. Our section also manages the Green Shipping Program, and we are responsible for the annual DNV Maritime Forecast to 2050.
Due to a high and increasing demand for our knowledge and services, we are now looking for new colleagues to strengthen our team.
The right candidate will contribute to:
Technical and economic analysis and modelling, feasibility studies of low- and zero emission solutions, including maritime batteries, fuel cells, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, and other emission reducing technologies
Assistance in developing decarbonization strategies and approaches for implementing emission abatement solutions on behalf of maritime clients, authorities, public administrations, and incentive schemes
Assessment of barriers and drivers for energy transition and technology uptake, including regulatory development, economics and financing, and market drivers
Execution of complex technology and policy projects, with a strong focus on structured and high-quality report writing
Marketing, sales and business development related to the above
Position Qualifications:

We are looking for a colleague with:
M.Sc. or Ph.D. within marine technology, industrial economy, natural and environmental sciences, renewable energy, physics and mathematics or other relevant fields
Knowledge of environmental challenges, low and zero emission fuels, energy efficiency technologies, ship engine systems and Life Cycle Assessments
Understanding of the ongoing fuel transition in shipping
Understanding of the maritime sector, emission reducing technologies and key decarbonization drivers
Excellent ability to process and structure information, and to communicate clearly in writing
Strong analytical and modelling skills, and MS Excel capacities and preferably knowledge of programming
Project management experience is an advantage. Excellent Norwegian and English language skills is an advantage.
