Overview:

We are searching for a Fleet Manager with a passion & experience in Vessel Opex Management. This is a newly created role within Marine Operations Management that will support the business with initiatives to drive opex savings across the fleet, modernise opex handling and analysis and support the Fleet Management Team. As Fleet Manager Vessel Opex you will work collaboratively with our external Ship Managers and internal stakeholders to deliver Opex results, identify optimization potential, to encourage and support change to meet the company expectations.
Our ideal candidate has a digital mindset and is able to support the development of new digital platforms for results & analysis. In this role, you can also expect to work closely with project teams building business cases for opex & capex evaluations.
Job Description:
Drive cost saving opportunities with ship managers globally, collaborate, support and share experiences that drive Opex savings
Utilize data to trend and spot irregularities or opportunities for cost saving initiatives combined with fleet management experience to understand where changes may be applicable
Discuss various maintenance practices between vessels and ship managers, support and encourage trial and error efforts to drive change
Participate in automating the financial reporting tools and future development to streamline the process
Deliver financial analysis of monthly Opex, Opex KPIs, forecast in line with group practices
Support ship management in the monthly reporting of Opex ensuring accuracy of allocated costs
Champion a fleet equality approach to operations ensuring all vessels and vessel management have same requirements/treatment regardless of designation
Job Requirements:
Maritime management level qualification either Master or Chief Engineer or degree level equivalent. Candidates with lesser qualifications but 2-3 years’ experience with Opex or in a similar role can be considered
Preferable candidate has served in ship management or similar role with knowledge and understanding of shipping/roro industry
Personal attributes:
Good Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop creative and effective solutions to problems
Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments, cultures and stakeholder groups
Fluency in written and oral English
A digital mindset with ability to see opportunities
Collaborative team player with ability to work alone & as part of a team
