Field Service Engineer, Fish Industry in Norway
Get close to the raw materials and make a visible impact on customer’s uptime on their salmon production. As part of our Nordic Field Service Team you deliver service to technical process equipment such as our salmon filleting machines. You are given the opportunity to work across mechanical, electrotechnical and control and you will be working in close cooperation with customers throughout Norway’s fish industry.
As part of a team of 35 Field Service Engineers in the Nordic you will become part of a united and like-minded team. position is an important part of our service, so the successful applicant will have the opportunity to make a valuable difference in customer’s uptime and see the impact of their work up close as a service well done gets the production running.
What you’ll be doing:
We will provide you with the necessary training and onboarding to develop your technical skillset towards Marel Equipment and particularly competences within filleting processes. The job will give you a unique opportunity to make a difference for our customers and we, in Marel, are committed to supporting your learning and development. Your primary responsibilities will be:
Supporting customer satisfaction and building good relationships with our customer organization
Service of Marel Install Base, primarily within filleting process equipment
Reporting from service jobs in our Field Service Management System
Troubleshooting and support as well as customer training
Installing Marel process equipment
Aftercare of new installations
Keeping in close contact with the customer and reporting on progress on service
We imagine you will operate in the area near Hitra, Norway, with the opportunity to drive from home to customers, in a daily dialogue with our local office in the area. You will be provided with a car for customer visits. We expect 110 travel days a year primarily in Norway but also including occasional travel in the Nordics. You will refer to our Field Service Manager, Nordics, who is based in Denmark but will visit the locations on an ongoing basis.

Have solid understanding of and experience with the fish industry particularly the filleting process
Enjoy customer face-to-face interactions
Are fluent in Norwegian and preferably have a basic written and spoken English
Have technical competences on equipment within the fish industry
You will join a team of talented and dedicated colleagues known for their high professionalism, great unity, informal work tone and big sense of responsibility. The work will be approx. 80% out on customers’ locations and 20% work from home office or local Marel location.
