We are looking for a new Project Manager for our Sales and Execution Project Management Department in Offshore Engineering.
The Engineering area includes the departments for Primary Structures Design and Secondary Structures Design, Electrical, Certification, Supply Chain Management and SCADA & Grid.
The department is engaged in project specific tower & foundation designs for offshore wind farms all across the world and enable optimizations, new solutions and efficient project execution within this area. We aim for "fire prevention" rather than "fire fighting" and build our business on professional project management skills combined with high technical competencies and strong leadership.
How to contribute to our vision
As our new Project Manager in Sales & Execution Department, you will be responsible for managing the tower and foundation customer specific design solutions in the turbine package. You will manage a project team together with three Lead Engineers from Loads, Primary Structures Design, Secondary Structures Design reporting to you. You will utilize your own technical and business skills in managing design activities within the project and towards our customers. You will be involved in back office as well as front line activities, facilitating finding solutions together with your Project Manager customer counterpart and their technical experts. Main tasks will also include delivering high quality engineering projects on agreed time and budget and ensuring the project execution is compliant with Siemens Gamesa quality procedures. You will also be coordinating and managing deliverables from Lead Engineers and Specialists. Part of your role will also be to handle interdisciplinary communication between the other Engineering Project Managers in the projects (i.e. Rotor/Nacelle, Software & SCADA and Electrical Systems & Fabrication). You will also ensure proper handover of design to manufacturing and installation.
Additionally, your assignments will include:
Conducting time planning and coordination of engineering activities in the projects
Resource planning and requesting on project within the support structure group in close cooperation with the line management
Risk management and reporting.
Managing technical interfaces within the support structure project and towards engineering sub-contractors
Third party certification of relevant deliverablesWhat you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. You should have minimum 5 years of professional experience including minimum 2 years experience executing commercial projects or product development projects as either : Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Engineering Manager within wind engineering, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Industry. This is preferably combined with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Wind Energy, Mechanical or Offshore Engineering or an educational background in technical sales or business development.
You have solid experience with managing different stakeholders and interfaces (internally as well as externally ) , and successful track record in delivering technically scoped projects. You are intrinsically motivated by commercial execution delivering with excellence project business results and product results – and taking pride in achieving high customer satisfaction. You have the experience as project manager leading a project team and the ability to maintain project overview seeing the big picture when project decision needs made. Preferably, you hold a project manager certification with experience execution commercial scale offshore wind projects.
You have a business mindset and enjoy customer management, contract management and negotiations. You should thrive in a dynamic, changing environment. You have knowledge about wind turbines or offshore structures on product level – e.g. obtained from different parts of the value chain: development, execution, manufacturing, service, installation, operations, etc.
You are able to work in an international environment and possess excellent English skills, both orally and in writing.

Willingness and ability to travel for work purposes is required for this role.

Coordination and collaboration skills are part of your strengths.
