Description

We are looking for an energy service analyst who will focus on offshore vessel research to strengthen our product offering within Rigs and Vessels. The energy service team is responsible for Rystad Energy’s research offerings and analysis of the global supply chain spanning across service segments such as rigs, vessels, offshore wind, well services, seismic, engineering, fabrication and maintenance. We want to strengthen our focus on offshore vessels such as PSVs, AHTS and OCVs, by maintaining our supply and demand models to be able to forecast market trends within the OSV sector. The majority of research will be related to offshore vessels, but the candidate will also support our research and clients globally across the wider energy service markets. We are seeking a talented and ambitious analyst with outstanding analytical and technical skills. The right candidate would have 3-6 years of experience as an engineer, financial or market analyst from the offshore vessel sector. The candidate will need to contribute to the entire data value chain, from data gathering, processing and analysis, to synthesizing and presenting results.

Job Description

Research related to offshore vessels (PSV, AHTS and OCVs) and other service markets
Take specific responsibility for our products within offshore vessels
Gather, process, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
Develop, maintain and optimize energy data collection, and processing workflows
Develop new forecast models and processes to analyze our data
Contribute to and write client commentaries and reports
Participate in external and internal presentations
Contribute to sales and business development
Engage with clients to demonstrate our research and analyses
Travel when needed for research trips, client engagement, and business development support

Requirements / Skills

Strong academic track record in the relevant education field (e.g. Master’s Degree in engineering, finance, economics)
3-6 years of relevant experience from an oilfield service company, financial institution or O&G operator

Solid proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Programming skills are an advantage but not required
Fluent in English; other languages are a plus

The position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on attitude. The right candidate must have a strong interest in or direct work experience in the energy sector, as well as a desire to work with both the technical and financial aspects of the market. We are seeking candidates with an outstanding ability to synthesize data and information coming from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written will be seen upon as a great benefit.
