Application Engineer - Custom Design
BERG PROPULSION is one of the world's leading designers and producers of Controllable Pitch Propellers. We deliver fully customized main propellers, azimuth thrusters, transverse thrusters and maneuvering systems. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Control System Team. Location Hönö, Sweden.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global engineering company. You will be a part of a team where all have their own expertise and work together to develop and support the customer when it comes to new projects and field issues. As a custom design engineer, you will be a key resource and you will report to the Automation and Control Manager.
Job Description
In this position, you are expected to function as a specialist in hardware engineering.
Directly and as a team member, you will participate in designing and developing new products, control systems, concepts, and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner that ensures products with superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
The hardware team are working with the following tools and methods; Auto CAD, Solidworks electrical, Solidworks 3D.
We have a long-term plan to migrate to Solidworks Electrical, and expertise with this tool is a merit.
We have a short-term plan to add hydraulic custom design to this group and basic knowledge in hydraulics is meritorious.
Work assignment will be divided between project and close cooperation with customer on field.
Drawings for customized control systems
Drawings, design and develop new hardware for new projects
Find new solutions and update existing hardware in the field
Act as support function to service and production teams.
Support sales as to what solutions are possible and critically analyze customer requirements.
Perform technical evaluations of major systems and products.
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Automation engineering or Electrical engineering.
Several years’ experience from hardware development.
Ability to see the whole process and take action
Independent, driven, and self-motivated.
Be able to act hands on in production environment and also in the field.
Good communication skills in both Swedish and English
Experience in the maritime industry is advantageous
