The Director Information Technology will have the responsibility to support the Voyage IT landscape. The position will be a key part of the technology office while also supporting all facets of Voyage organization. This includes setting-up best in class development toolchain for a large and distributed R&D organization and harmonizing the existing cloud infrastructure technologies. Voyage is a leading provider of cloud application and services in the maritime ecosystem where cloud expertise is a key driver of the product portfolio. Additionally, the person will have to bring consistency in the CRM and ERP landscape and work closely with the central IM organization in order to coordinate their enterprise-based services.

The role requires a strong focus on delivery as well as managing internal and supplier relations to drive efficiency across the businesses.

The location of this role is either Helsinki, Finland or Hamburg, Germany.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Information Technology

Harmonize and enhance Voyage DevOps environment to create best in class toolchain for a large R&D (over 300 software engineers) multidisciplinary group
Be part of the technology leadership team helping to define the future technology and IT landscape of a very ambitious strategy
Work closely with suppliers (and customers’ where required) to forge strong relationship – firm but fair
Work closely with sales, finance and operations helping to first define the ERP and CRM landscape and then drive its implementation
Work with Wärtsilä central IM organization to coordinate, prioritize as well as challenge the existing enterprise services landscape
Leadership
Motivate, inspire and lead the different stakeholders working in the IT landscape to drive a harmonization process efficiently
Coach, support and challenge (facts, not fictions)
Equally comfortable operating at strategy technology level as diving into the detail (when needed)
Strong communication and organizational skills helping to drive an IT transformation
Demonstrates Wärtsilä values and related behaviors and goes beyond own role to collaborate and make an impact

The Director Information Technology will be part of a technology organization committed to Marine Voyage strategy and mission. All candidates should have demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience as well as proven track record working in large complex organizations.
Other qualifications include -
Advanced degree (e.g. M.Sc.) in computer science or equivalent, with at least 5+ years of management experience in an IT leadership role
Demonstrated technology background with 10+ years of hands-on experience
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people in composite structures.
Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-motivated with demonstrated passion for excellence.
Able to work in a highly collaborative manner with a team of senior professionals.
Experience in leading agile teams in an international and global environment as well as substantial experience as business management team member
Fluency in English is a must, another European language a plus
