This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated commercial lawyer to join a fast-growing company in the energy sector; Are you a lawyer or solicitor with a desire for in-house commercial law, including negotiation of commercial international contracts and legal risk management within the energy sector? Then this might be the perfect position for you.
Semco Maritime A/S is experiencing a major increase within our activities, and therefore we are now looking for an additional employee for our Legal Department, which today consists of 4 lawyers. The position will be located in our headquarter by the sea in Esbjerg and you will be reporting directly to the General Counsel.Key responsibilities and tasks
You’ll advise the company on a broad and interesting range of legal work. We like our lawyers to have as much exposure across the business as possible and so, you’ll be advising the business directly on a wide variety of commercial, technology and risk management issues. Crucially, we’ll need you to be able to draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts under demanding deadlines. Having the confidence to work autonomously will be essential. You will overall be given responsibility for case-processing, hereunder contract negotiation inhouse as well as externally.
Additionally, you will have the following responsibilities and tasks:
Provide high quality legal advice
Influence decisions regarding commercial and legal issues.
Your profile
We are looking for a person that feel at home in commercial law and have solid experience with international agreements. Your educational background will be a Master of Laws and preferably you have 5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer in an international company and/or experience with negotiations from the energy- or construction sectors. Furthermore, we are looking for the following qualifications and experience:
Experience in handling inhouse case processing, hereunder solid experience of drafting, reviewing and advising on a variety of complex and high value contracts
Confident, commercially conscious and professionally robust with the ability to identify and interpret adverse business and legal risks, including causing and acting with the necessary legal action in that regard.
You can deliver pragmatic legal and business advice to both management and colleagues.
You can understand new business opportunities, as well as to identify the right legal method and approach to develop the ideas from thought to action and execution.
It is an absolute precondition that you speak and write easy-to-understand English at a “legal business level” and are an experienced reader of English-languaged agreements.
Most importantly; we would like a humorous and curious colleague, who is happy to collaborate and interact with people of all sorts. You will be a great team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build rapport and establish trust at all levels.
