For our Global Blades department within Siemens Gamesa Offshore we are looking for a committed and motivated tool developer with strong innovative mindset. You will be part of a global R&D team of Process and Tooling Developers working on exploration and technology development projects, leading the innovation of blade manufacturing processes.

How to contribute to our vision

In the role as Blades Manufacturing Tooling Developer you will be responsible for developing tools and equipment for offshore Wind Turbine Blades manufacturing. Furthermore, you will be working with concept development and testing, together with a highly skilled team of process engineers and technicians in our technology workshop.

In addition, your achievements will be further implemented in serial blade production. You will be evaluating the overall blades manufacturing setup, looking for CAPEX reduction potential and initiating development projects. We expect you to develop and own the overall tooling roadmap together with the Chief Engineers. This will be done in close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders from Blade Design Team to Global Tooling Design and local plant engineers. You will be part of a young and motivated team where we focus on state-of-the-art technology and innovation.

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. Furthermore, y ou hold a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering - Or a similar educational background related to mechanical design.

Technical skills:

  • You have 4+ years of work experience with equipment development, design, testing and validation

  • 3D modeling and FEA knowledge is a must

  • Knowledge on blades manufacturing processes, tools and equipment

  • Hands-on experience in mock-up building, DIY or similar

  • Excellent English skills both orally and in writing.

  • Experienced user of MS-Office.

In addition, you have a structured approach to your work and can handle simultaneous assignments without losing overview. The ideal candidate can work independently as well as in teams and you are excellent at collaborating with stakeholders in different areas of the organization. You possess a strong innovative mindset and self-driven personality.
