Description
Research areas will be within mechanics and dynamics; with special emphasis on offshore dynamic systems and processes. The candidate must have a strong interest in dynamic modelling, signal processing, and must have conducted research within the field of offshore energy systems. Furthermore, the candidate must have experience with conducting real-time experiments in a laboratory environment.
Teaching will primarily be related to linear algebra, calculus and dynamic modelling and will include both lecturing and supervision of student projects on bachelor and master’s level for the Energy and Mechnical engineering programmes, but also in other study programmes at the University.
The teaching will involve close innovative collaboration with industrial companies. Thus, knowledge and experience with the Problem-based learning (PBL) method, which is Aalborg University’s teaching philosophy, is a requirement.
The Department of Energy Technology focuses on the technical and scientific disciplines within engineering and control theory. Research areas span from indoor environment, structural analysis and design, control theory and wave energy.
The research is conducted in a national as well as an international research environment. The Department takes on contract research for both public institutions and private companies. The research projects involve both theoretical research and in-situ measurements along with laboratory experiments.

Qualification requirements
Appointment as an Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.
Appointment as an Assistant Professor cannot exceed a period of four years in total in a temporary position (appointment at Assistant Professor level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark).
