Do you want help us to promote a healthy planet for future generations? We are now looking for an Electrical Design Engineer.

 

About the role

Yara Marine needs to strengthen the electrical team with an Electrical Engineer focusing on shore power. You will work very broadly with everything from supporting the sales team, calculating and dimensioning power supply systems, specifying components to purchasing and installation teams. You will have close contact with customers, classification societies and suppliers to ensure deliveries, and participate in FAT and SAT during the delivery phase. You will also work strategically to develop and find new solutions for products in the area. It will be an exciting journey where you will actively develop new green technology that will affect future shipping around the world.

 


Your skills and background

  • You have at least a Bachelor's degree in electric power engineering. A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Experience in electrical design with experience of medium voltage systems (up to 11kV).
  • Knowledge in dimensioning of distribution network systems such as switchboards, transformers, cables etc. (MV/LV)
  • Creating approval documentation to class society like short circuit calculations, discrimination(selectivity) analysis, electrical system philosophy, single line diagrams etc.
  • Experience from design tools like EPLAN or similar, and electrical calculation software like ETAP, NEPLAN or similar.
  • Electrical calculations and power system studies such as load flows, short circuit studies, arc and protection coordination studies and transient stability studies.
  • English language: fluent in speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you also have experience in:

  • Energy storage systems (batteries)
  • Marine onboard electric distribution systems.
  • Standards and classification rules used during design and installation.
